Registry for Stones of the Kidneys and Ureter (ReSKU)

At UCSD, we use ReSKU, a prospective, high-quality, automated nephrolithiasis registry that extracts data directly from the electronic health record (EHR). This was originally created at UCSF, and through collaboration with UCSF, Oregon Heath Sciences, UCLA, University of Minnesota, UT Southwestern and University of Alabama at Birmingham we now are collecting vital data on kidney stone patients. The data is clean, adjudicated and incredibly powerful in this day of machine learning, where the new currency is data. With ReSKU we are able to publish high-quality research that will answer critical questions about kidney stone disease. Moreover, ReSKU will be a highly attractive platform for supporting work with strategics and generating sponsored research as well as extra-mural funding.
