(https://urology.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are seeking faculty members with expertise in urologic oncology to join a large, collaborative, multidisciplinary program.
The successful candidates will manage patient populations from a broad referral base and will provide clinical care at multiple sites, including VAHCS San Diego. Clinical responsibilities will include the diagnosis and management of genitourinary malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers, utilizing open, minimally invasive, and robotic surgical approaches.
The successful candidates will work closely with medical oncology, radiation oncology, and other specialties to deliver comprehensive, team-based cancer care. The successful candidates will also participate in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and engage in scholarly activity aligned with the advancement of urologic oncology. This position offers a dynamic academic environment with opportunities for clinical program development and leadership within a high-impact area of specialty care.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent or an MD/PhD in health-related fields.
Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Urology. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board.
Candidates must have completed a Urology residency program.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
Candidates must have completed an accredited Urologic Oncology fellowship (e.g., SUO fellowship) or equivalent advanced training in the management of genitourinary malignancies by the time of the start of the appointment.
Preferred qualifications
Candidates with an established or emerging record of scholarly activity in urologic oncology are preferred.

The successful candidates will also participate in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and engage in scholarly activity aligned with the advancement of endourology and surgical innovation. The role will also involve managing a diverse patient population coming from a large referral area and practice and coverage at Rady Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will play a central role in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, and will be expected to foster excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

Possible areas of subspecialty focus could include Neuro-Urology and/or Interstitial Cystitis.
The positions offer a dynamic environment for growth and impact in both clinical and academic settings. The positions also offer several potential leadership opportunities, including clinic directorship or fellowship program leadership.
