  • Roger L. Sur, MD

    Roger L. Sur, MD

    Roger L. Sur, MD, is Professor of Urology at UC San Diego Health and Director of both the Comprehensive Kidney Stone Center and the UC San Diego–Kaiser Endourology Fellowship Program. A retired Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserves, Dr. Sur brings decades of clinical and surgical expertise to the treatment of complex kidney stone disease. His research focuses on innovations in endourologic techniques, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), and the role of ultrasound-guided access in renal surgery. Dr. Sur is actively involved in multiple clinical trials and is widely published in the field of stone disease.
  • Manoj Monga, MD

    Manoj Monga, MD

    Dr. Manoj Monga is Professor and Chair of Urology at the University of California, San Diego. He has previously served as the Director of the Stevan B. Streem Center for Endourology & Stone Disease at the Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute of the Cleveland Clinic, and Joseph Sorkness Professor and Vice-Chair of Urology at the University of Minnesota. After graduating from the Chicago Medical School, he completed his residency at Tulane University. He specializes in Endourology and Stone Disease. He was awarded the Endourological Society “Arthur Smith Young Innovators’ Award” in 2007, and has over 450 peer-reviewed publications. His research has focused on the evaluation and design of medical devices related to endourology.
  • Seth K. Bechis, MD, MS

    Seth K. Bechis, MD, MS

    Dr. Seth Bechis is Associate Professor of Urology at UC San Diego and treats patients at the Comprehensive Kidney Stone Center. He earned his medical degree at UC San Francisco School of Medicine and completed residency at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Endourology and Robotics here at UCSD. His research includes studies on improving surgical techniques and clinical outcomes in stone disease, tools for stone diagnosis, and opiate-sparing pathways for managing pain. 
  • Tyler Sheetz, MD

    Tyler Sheetz, MD

    Tyler Sheetz, MD, graduated from medical school and residency at Ohio State University before completing fellowship in Endourology and Robotic Surgery at UC San Diego and Kaiser Permanente. His research is focused on pathophysiology and clinical outcomes of kidney stones, prostate cancer, and urologic education.
  • Luke Griffiths, MD

    Luke Griffiths, MD

    Luke Griffiths, MD, completed his residency training in New York with the Smith Institute for Urology, Northwell Health. He is published on topics spanning infertility, oncology, and kidney stone treatments, with a current focus on stone volume analysis and BPH. He now continues his training with a fellowship at UC San Diego in Endourology and Minimally Invasive/Robotic Surgery.
  • Thalia Bajakian, MD

    Thalia Bajakian, MD

    Thalia Bajakian, MD, completed medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and residency at Los Angeles General Medical Center - University of Southern California. She will be the fellow in Endourology and Robotic Surgery at UC San Diego and Kaiser Permanente. Her research interests include improving access to stone care in underserved communities, ergonomics of stone surgery, and prevention of stone disease.
  • Ryan Blake, MD

    Ryan Blake, MD

    Ryan Blake, MD, graduated medical school from Columbia University College of Physicians in New York City and completed his urology residency at Mount Sinai in New York City. He is completing a fellowship in Endourology at UC San Diego and Kaiser Permanente. His research interests include advancements in Endourology surgical technique as well as the use of ultrasound technology within the field.
  • Jamie Finegan

    Jamie Finegan

    Jamie is a pre-med student and aspiring physician with over 5 years of experience as a research coordinator. She is passionate about research and has presented many abstracts at conferences around the United States. She oversees numerous clinical trials and assists with patients who choose to enroll in studies.
