Breakfast with Champions

A Fundraiser for Prostate Cancer Research

On Friday, February 22, 2013, at 8 a.m., UC San Diego Urology hosted the Prostate Cancer Fundraiser, a “Breakfast with Champions”, at the La Jolla Country Club. The event featured NFL Hall of Famer and prostate cancer survivor, Mike Haynes, who  discussed his experience as a champion, both on and off the field. All proceeds from the event benefit prostate cancer research.

The event featured a buffet breakfast and a presentation by Mike Haynes. Guests had the opportunity to sit at their preferred “NFL Team Table” and hear personal stories from the esteemed NFL legends.

During the event, Dr. Christopher Kane, Chair, Department of Urology, gave an update about new detection methods for prostate cancer, and shared some of the exciting research taking place at UC San Diego that will lead to more optimal treatments for prostate cancer in the future.
